Art is emotion in visible form. Over the years, I’ve painted during highs and lows, and every canvas has a story. Here are 5 emotions I’ve captured — and what each taught me:
- Joy – Bright yellows and free-flowing shapes danced across my canvas when I was celebrating a milestone. It taught me that happiness doesn’t need planning; it bursts out naturally.
- Sadness – Shades of blue with heavy brushstrokes created a silent piece during a lonely time. I learned that expressing pain through art can be deeply healing.
- Anger – Bold reds, jagged lines, and chaotic textures. Painting through rage showed me how art can calm storms without hurting anyone.
- Hope – A sunrise piece with soft oranges and light pastels. It reminded me that hope is gentle yet powerful.
- Peace – My most minimal painting — soft whites, pale blues, and smooth strokes. Peace needs no explanation, only presence.
Each emotion has a color, a stroke, a rhythm. What emotion have you painted recently?
